This space is of great interest both for its design and for the works of art brought by Jesuit procurators from very distant places in the 17th and 18th centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Jesuits established themselves in Valladolid, one of the royal family&#8217;s and court&#8217;s favorite towns, in the mid-17th century. The origin of the building lies in the foundation of the House of the Professed of the Society of Jesus in 1543 by Jesuit Fathers Pedro Fabro and Antonio de Araoz. The key figure in founding a patronage in favor of the Society was the Countess of Fuensalda\u00f1a, Magdalena de Borja y de O\u00f1ez y de Loyola, related to the Jesuits. The support of other patrons was essential in the process of constructing and beautifying the Church of San Miguel and San Juli\u00e1n, now a parish in Valladolid. The sacristy, also used as a chapel by the Jesuits, is designed as a church within the ecclesiastical space itself. Beyond its liturgical functions, it now houses a wide exhibition of paintings, sculptures, and relics, among other objects, brought from the Catholic territories of the Spanish monarchy between the 16th and 18th centuries.
